Ashton Kutcher, Tyra Banks, Sting: Hollywood rules red carpet in Washington

The hottest red carpet anywhere on Saturday night?

It was the one leading into the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., where Hollywood star power frankly outshone all the hard-working journalists throwing their annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, broadcast by MSNBC and C-Span.

These were true A-listers: Steven Spielberg, Glenn Close, Alicia Keys, Donatella Versace, Tyra Banks, Sting, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

All rubbing shoulders with the likes of Alan Greenspan and Newt Gingrich.

(It's like the nerds invited the cool kids to their prom, and we say that will all due respect to our fellow journalists.)

The entertainer for the black-tie evening, Wanda Sykes, was expected to wag that tart tongue of hers at President Obama - as is tradition.

He was expected to give as good as he got, as is tradition, too.

The annual dinner raises money for various causes, this year funding journalism scholarships and benefiting charities that feed the hungry. First lady Michelle Obama was expected to present scholarships at the event.
